Spencer Rees is a Director in Bennett Thrasher’s Mergers & Acquisitions practice and serves as the sell-side transaction advisory lead for the firm. In this capacity, Spencer assists both publicly traded and privately held organizations as well as private equity portfolio companies with carve-out, divestiture and recapitalization transactions. After spending years performing financial due diligence on acquisition targets for strategic and financial buyers, Spencer is uniquely positioned to help sellers see things through the lens of a buyer and successfully navigate the sell-side process. Spencer works directly with business owners, but often partners with investment bankers and business brokers to lead quality of earnings and sell-side readiness engagements. Spencer began his career in the Financial Reporting & Assurance practice at Bennett Thrasher, where he provided audit, review and other assurance services across a variety of industries within the middle-market. Spencer also spent time in the Strategy & Transactions group at EY, where he primarily worked on sell-side engagements.

Spencer is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Georgia.
