Chris Roane is a Partner in Bennett Thrasher’s Dispute Resolution & Forensics practice. He has over 15 years of experience assisting clients and their counsel with business disputes involving lost profits and economic damages and investigations into alleged fraud, waste, and abuse. Chris has also served in court-appointed auditor and neutral roles for business disputes. He also has extensive experience within the healthcare and life sciences industries working with companies on regulatory compliance matters where Bennett Thrasher has been engaged as the Independent Review Organization (IRO), Compliance Expert, or Independent Monitor. Chris and his team also regularly perform proactive and government-mandated compliance program assessments and targeted compliance investigations. His healthcare and life sciences experience has spanned health systems, provider networks, pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors, durable medical equipment providers, managed care organizations, and clinical and diagnostic labs.
Prior to Bennett Thrasher, Chris worked in a Big Four firm’s Forensics practice. He later moved to Alere Inc., a global healthcare diagnostic device company, where he performed compliance audits and special investigations for its Internal Audit department.
Chris is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Georgia. He also holds certifications in Fraud Examination (CFE) and Healthcare Compliance (CHC). He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Georgia State University with a Master of Professional Accountancy degree. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Health Care Compliance Association, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
