Mike Hostinsky


Mike Hostinsky is a Partner in the Risk Advisory Services practice in our Financial Reporting and Assurance department.  He has over 15 years of professional experience in audit and compliance, risk management and business consulting.  Mike’s service capabilities include leading and delivering System and Organization Controls (SOC) attestation examinations, internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing engagements, Sarbanes-Oxley 404 internal control reviews and audits and business process improvement projects.  While he has served clients in a variety of industries, Mike’s primary industry experience includes retail, manufacturing and distribution.

Prior to joining Bennett Thrasher, Mike was a Principal in the risk assurance and consulting practice of an Atlanta-based accounting firm, Windham Brannon.  Prior to Windham Brannon, he also worked for Teavana Corporation, a specialty tea retailer, where he was responsible for establishing and leading risk management and internal control compliance activities prior to the company’s acquisition by Starbucks.  Additionally, Mike previously held other positions in professional services firms as a Senior Manager in the business advisory services practice of Grant Thornton, and in business consulting roles at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and BearingPoint.

Mike holds a Master of  Business Administration from Goizueta Business School at Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Wake Forest University.  Additionally, he holds the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Project Management Professional (PMP) designations and is a member of the Atlanta chapters of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and ISACA (previously known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association).
