Jeff Eischeid, Managing Partner at Bennett Thrasher, recently sat down with Business RadioX to discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic has presented opportunities and challenges for the firm. In the interview, he shares more about BT’s services, the company’s culture and plans for future growth, as well as lessons learned from the pandemic and current trends in accounting. Talent development, recruitment and retention remain top priorities at Bennett Thrasher, and associates have found creative solutions that keep the tradition of learning alive, despite the distance.
“Collaboration is at the heart of Bennett Thrasher’s culture, and we’re proud of our ability to quickly adapt to new challenges. Over the past six months, our team has continued to provide excellent service to our clients from the comfort and safety of their homes,” said Eischeid. “As of June, some associates have chosen to transition back to working at the office while adhering to CDC-recommended social distancing guidelines. Video conferencing technologies, however, have enabled associates to collaborate with one another and with clients, no matter their locations.”
During the interview, Eischeid also highlighted key trends in accounting; the industry has taken center stage as countless businesses, both big and small, seek to navigate the financial challenges created by the pandemic. Eligible companies applied for and received Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans from the Small Business Administration (SBA) and are now working to understand new guidance on loan forgiveness. In addition, as many individuals engage CPAs for year-end tax planning, they are considering what steps can be taken between now and the end of the year to mitigate their income tax burden. The total impact of COVID-19, however, remains to be seen, as businesses and individuals will continue to feel the positive and negative effects into 2021.
