Chris Cuzzourt is a Partner in Bennett Thrasher’s Personal Financial
Services practice, where he advises high-net-worth individuals,
families, trustees, fiduciaries, executives, and business owners on
complex tax planning and compliance matters. His practice focuses
on helping clients navigate significant financial events, preserve
family wealth, and manage the tax implications of sophisticated
financial structures.
A substantial portion of Chris’ work involves trusts and estates.
He works closely with individual trustees, corporate fiduciaries,
executors, and estate planning attorneys to address the tax
and administrative challenges associated with trust and estate
administration. His experience includes fiduciary income tax
compliance, wealth transfer planning, estate settlement support,
and guidance for families and advisors managing complex estate
matters.
Chris also advises clients through major liquidity events, including
the sale of closely held businesses, inheritance of family wealth,
and executive compensation events. He has experience working
with executives and investment professionals with complex
compensation arrangements, including restricted stock units,
incentive stock options, nonqualified stock options, carried interest,
and other equity-based compensation structures.
In addition to working with individuals and families, Chris serves as
a trusted resource for attorneys, trustees, family offices, and other
advisors seeking specialized tax expertise in the fiduciary and high net-worth space.
Chris is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Georgia.
Outside of the office, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and
four children, strength training, following the Braves and growing
pumpkins.
