Managing Director
Brian is a Managing Director in our federal tax practice focusing on Bennett Thrasher’s Research and Development Tax Credit practice. Brian is former tax consulting partner and executive leader of the Quantitative Services Group of Ernst & Youngs Southeast Area practice based in Atlanta. The group was responsible for implementing large leveraged tax products. He also served as the solution leader for the firms IRC Section 199 Services practice, which is part of the Quantitative Services Group. He has been the project manager and/or subject matter specialist on a number of large engagements in the communications, financial, health care, manufacturing, engineering, utilities and software development industries.
Brian has extensive experience dealing with the IRS in connection with R&E (Sec. 41 & 174), Fixed Assets (Sec. 263(a) and 263A) and Sec. 199 studies both at the exam level and the appeals level. Under Brian’s leadership, EYs Southeast Area Quantitative Services Group had successfully retained a significant percentage of the benefits claimed in the various federal tax studies and industries covered.
In addition to his public accounting experience, Brian was the chief financial officer of a large real estate partnership owned my Mitsubishi Estates of Japan and A Duda & Sons in South Florida.
Brian is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the states of Georgia and Florida.
