In an article published recently by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bennett Thrasher partners Scott Hazy and Tom Jollay are featured for their comments on the 2019 Georgia Construction Outlook survey. Local builders in Atlanta have more work than a year ago, and despite a weak national employment report, the construction industry is aggressively trying to fill positions in Atlanta. Hazy says, “Certainly, we see no headwinds in the economy. On the contrary, there are labor shortages in the construction sector.” As employers in the construction industry continue to have a hard time filling open slots, Jollay says, Base pay is up nominally, but bonuses are up significantly.
