Bennett Thrasher, a Top 100 U.S. Accounting Firm, invited DFK International member accounting firms, PSP from Germany and CBW from the UK, to Atlanta to discuss the nuances of doing business in these European countries. It is clear that as the global economy continues to emerge, businesses are becoming more complex, competitive and agile in worldwide trade. What is more uncertain is the effect Brexit will have upon leaving the EU.
The event, which was hosted at the offices of Arnall Golden Gregory, included presentations from: Roland Graf from PSP where he discussed Doing Business in Germany, Michaela Schobert from the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S. who introduced the cultural and economic differences of doing business in Germany versus America, and Peter Winter from CBW who talked about Brexit: the Uncertainty in the EU and the Opportunities for the UK. Jen Yun from the Metro Atlanta Chamber also talked about the importance of understanding cultural and language barriers in different countries.
The event concluded with a panel discussion on U.S. Investments in Europe: Experiences and Insights which was moderated by Ben Miller from Bennett Thrasher and included James Parks and Anton Hayward from Bennett Thrasher and Tycho Stahl and Bob Dow from AGG.
