Tim Kelly is a Partner with Bennett Thrasher and has been practicing in public accounting for over 40 years, with experience in most areas of taxation, as well as significant experience in M&A activity, and strategic planning and business transition planning. He has worked with many industries, including companies with international in-bound and out-bound investments and services. Much of his work has been with privately held companies and individuals coordinating inter-generational and family wealth planning across borders. He provides litigation and forensic support for certain civil and other sensitive tax matters.
Prior to joining Bennett Thrasher, Tim worked with KPMG for many years; he served in several national and regional leadership roles and worked in KPMG’s offices in Atlanta, New York City and Washington DC.
Tim graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He is the past Chairman of the Atlanta Tax Forum, and has been active with the Atlanta Committee for CARE, Medshare, Druid Hills Golf Club, and currently serves on several community and private boards. He also is active in aviation.
