Bennett Thrasher is pleased to share that it will be hosting its 11th annual Break Through Conference this summer. The conference, which hosts undergraduate accounting students who are interested in pursuing a career in public accounting, will be held in person at our beautiful offices in Atlanta, GA from May 23 – 24, 2023.

The Bennett Thrasher Foundation, which serves as the firm’s way of giving back to its local community, is proud to announce that it will be matching 100 percent of donations made by BT associates during the month of May to three organizations based in Clarkston, Georgia that provide support to immigrants and refugees. Often hailed as “the most diverse square mile in America” or “the Ellis Island of the South,” Clarkston is home to many organizations that support and empower refugees by providing medical care, housing, literacy programs, job training and more.

Melisa Cook is the Chief People Officer at Bennett Thrasher. She loves working with people, helping to advance Bennett Thrasher’s culture and being active with her family outside of work. The conference, which hosts undergraduate accounting students who are interested in pursuing a career in public accounting, will be held virtually for the second year in a row from June 3-4, 2021.

Beginning your career can be an overwhelming experience, especially during a pandemic. To help students successfully navigate the job process in today’s virtual environment, Nicole Pearce, Assistant Director of Strategic Partnerships at Kennesaw State University, launched Career Conversations, a video series on LinkedIn that provides students with career-related tips and tricks. In one of her recent videos, she spoke with Jabari Scott, Bennett Thrasher’s Talent Acquisition Coordinator, and asked for his advice on how to maximize remote internships.
