Bennett Thrasher, one of the largest full-service public accounting and consulting firms in the country, has been selected by Construction Executive (CE) for its annual list of The Top 50 Construction Accounting Firms in the U.S.
Now in its 18th year of publication, CE is the leading trade magazine about the business of construction. In its July/August 2020 issue, CE published a comprehensive ranking of The Top 50 Construction Accounting Firms featuring its analysis and an article in which leading accounting experts discuss their construction clients’ most pressing business concerns. To determine each ranking, CE asked hundreds of U.S. accounting firms with a construction practice to complete a survey. Data collected included: 1) 2019 revenues from construction practice; 2) number of CPAs in construction practice; 3) percentage of firm’s total revenues from construction practice; 4) number of construction clients in 2019; 5) number of office locations with a construction accounting practice; 6) number of employees with CCIFP certification; and 7) year construction accounting practice established. The ranking was determined by an algorithm that weighted these factors in descending order of importance.
“We are honored to be ranked on Construction Executive’s The Top 50 Construction Accounting Firms and be recognized as a leader within the construction industry,” said Scott Hazy, Partner and co-leader of Bennett Thrasher’s Construction practice. “This recognition validates our expertise and commitment to supporting our construction clients as they navigate the industry’s opportunities and challenges.”
Bennett Thrasher’s Construction practice boasts professionals specializing in accounting, tax and consulting services. Associates are particularly well versed on the industry in Georgia, as the practice hosts an annual survey in collaboration with Kennesaw State University’s Department of Construction Management to get a pulse on trends in the state. The survey, which is in its fifth year of being published, has been featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Metro Atlanta CEO. This year, it will capture COVID-19’s impact on construction and how companies have navigated the challenges of the pandemic. Data regarding the outlook of the industry in general will also be collected, including project backlog, employment levels and gross revenue.
