Bennett Thrasher, one of the largest full-service public accounting and consulting firms in the country, announces the promotion of three of its professionals to its partnership effective July 1, 2020. The professionals being promoted are John Cummings, Jim Dougherty and Chris Edwards.

John Cummings, of the firm’s Business Development group, focuses on connecting clients and prospects with Bennett Thrasher’s industry and technical experts. He is particularly well versed in the complex financial challenges related to mergers and acquisitions for private equity groups and real estate companies. John offers a holistic view to accounting, and prior to working in business development, he provided both audit and transaction advisory services, specifically accounting and financial due diligence associated with mergers and acquisitions, to clients. John also served as a controller for Deutsche Bank, one of the world’s leading financial service providers, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Georgia.
Jim Dougherty, of the firm’s Technology Services practice, provides outsourced technology consulting and managed services by streamlining internal operations and building networks. He works with a variety of businesses ranging from small private companies to publicly-traded companies. His industry experience includes entertainment, manufacturing and supply chain, not-for-profit, professional services and technology.
Chris Edwards, of the firm’s Tax practice, provides federal and state income tax consulting and compliance services to middle-market and closely-held corporate and flow-through entities. In addition to tax services, Chris has experience in both buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions. His industry experience includes technology, healthcare, manufacturing and distribution and professional services. Chris is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Georgia and Colorado.
