On 11Alive and goBeyondProfit’s “The Extra Mile” segment, which aired on Sunday, August 11, 2019, Bennett Thrasher’s Chief Operating Officer Will Eckerson discusses ways the firm gives back to the local Atlanta community. Will explains that because Bennett Thrasher is a one-office firm in Atlanta, “we’ve really made that conscious effort to say ‘how can we do things in the Atlanta community to give back?’”

Bennett Thrasher looks for unique ways to get their employees out of the office and serve their community. Two years ago, the firm started its summertime BT on the AT hikes to promote employee wellness and support organizations important to their team members. The 2017 hikes focused on raising money for Down Syndrome organizations in support of a colleague whose daughter has Down Syndrome. In 2019, the hikes focused on mental health wellness and awareness, encouraging team members to immerse themselves in nature and learn how to encourage others who may need support.

GoBeyondProfit hosts “The Extra Mile”  segment on 11Alive’s BIZ News show and showcases how local companies execute outreach that strengthens their community and business to inspire other Georgia businesses to follow suit.
