Atlanta CPA Firm Bennett Thrasher announces the promotion of Jonathan Swartz to Shareholder.

Jonathan Swartz is a Shareholder in the firm’s Personal Financial Services practice.  He has experience providing financial advice to attorneys, corporate executives, family business owners and other high net worth clients on income tax, estate and gift tax, investment, insurance, and retirement planning.

Additionally, Swartz has experience in individual, partnership, S-Corporation, foundation, and fiduciary income taxation.

Prior to joining Bennett Thrasher, Swartz worked for the Atlanta office of KPMG LLP as a Senior Tax Manager in their Private Client Advisory Services (PCAS) practice. Swartz earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) degree from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University and his Master of Taxation from the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. Swartz is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Georgia, Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), and Personal Financial Specialist (PFS).

Swartz is a member of the Personal Financial Planning section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA), the Atlanta Estate Planning Council, the Georgia Planned Giving Council, the Financial Planning Association, and serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Atlanta Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals.

His community involvement includes service with Temple Sinai, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, and as the Treasurer of the Epsilon of Kappa Alpha Order Alumni Advisory Board. 

Bennett Thrasher announces the promotion of Rick Rosell to Principal.

Rick Rosell is a Principal with over fourteen years of experience in providing tax advisory and compliance services.  He has broad experience with corporate taxation specializing in tax compliance and FAS 109/income tax provision preparation and review. Additionally, Rosell has experience in individual, partnership and S-Corporation taxation.

Rosell began his career with a local Atlanta firm in its tax and assurance practices serving privately-owned manufacturers and automotive dealerships.  In addition to his experience with Bennett Thrasher PC, Rosell worked with Arthur Andersen LLP in its Federal Tax Practice in Charlotte, North Carolina.  While at Arthur Andersen, Rosell had extensive experience with manufacturers, start-up ventures, and construction contractors.

Rosell earned his Bachelor of Science (Accounting) degree with honors from the University of Florida. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of Georgia since 1997. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Georgia Society of CPAs within its Taxation Sections.

Rosell is also actively involved in the community with both Habitat for Humanity and Junior Achievement.
