Atlanta CPA Firm Bennett Thrasher Recognized as Top 100 Bulldog Business by the University of Georgia Alumni Association

The University of Georgia Alumni Association has recognized Atlanta CPA Firm Bennett Thrasher as an inaugural member of The Bulldog 100: Fastest Growing Bulldog Businesses. The Bulldog 100 program was launched in the spring of 2009 and is designed to celebrate the successes of UGA Alumni. Bennett Thrasher, along with the other winners, will be recognized at a celebration on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the InterContinental Hotel in Buckhead. The complete list and the firm's position on the list will be revealed that evening.
Companies were rated by "Compounded Annual Growth Rate" of revenues for the last 3 years and all qualified businesses, regardless of location, were considered. To be qualified in the program, business must have been in operation for five years or more, have had verifiable revenues of $100,000 or more for the last calendar year, must have had a former UGA student own at least 50% of the company or serve as CEO, President or Managing Partner and operate in a manner consistent with the University of Georgia's "Pillars of the Arch" character statement.
Bennett Thrasher was founded in 1980 by Rick Bennett and UGA Alum, Ken Thrasher.

Bennett Thrasher Foundation Announces Election of 2010 Officers

Bennett Thrasher Foundation, in conjuction with Atlanta based CPA firm, Bennett Thrasher, announces the election of its new officers for 2010. Chris Gilligan, IT Manager, will serve as President; 2009 was Chris’ first year on the Board, but his leadership of initiatives including Habitat for Humanity and Toys for Tots made him an excellent choice for the role. Other officers include: Justin Walker, FR&A Senior, Treasurer and Paul Dubsky, FR&A Manager, Secretary. Current members of the board include: past presidents, David Thompson (2009) and Tiffany Scales (2006-2008); Bennett Thrasher co-founding Shareholder, Ken Thrasher; Tax Shareholder, Cary Rodin; FR&A Senior and former Secretary, Will Howell; and HR Analyst, Stephanie Crawford.
Chris is very enthusiastic about the upcoming year stating “In 2010, I would like to build on the great work the foundation has done since its inception. One of my goals for the foundation is to complete the firm's second Habitat for Humanity house. This event really allows our associates the chance to see a project from start to finish and the direct effect their contribution has on the community.”
Bennett Thrasher Foundation exists to “give their talents, gifts, and service to charitable organizations fostering the long term development and success of individuals in the Greater Atlanta Metropolitan Community.” In 2009, BT Foundation gave monetary donations to over 25 non-profit organizations resulting in approximately $75,000 funded by Bennett Thrasher’s top line revenue.
